Our Activity

Akshar Sarita Foundation conducts weekly library classes as part of the timetable in Municipal and local schools in and around Pune, Maharashtra. ASF keeps a cupboard with books on a wide range of topics, specially selected according to the age and interests of the readers.

ASF volunteers begin the session with vocabulary-building games and activities like riddles, puzzles etc. which help  and motivate the students to read and learn languages. Sometimes they also tell a story or read a poem aloud with the students and then give them books to read.

They interact with the students to find out their areas of interest and procure books of their liking.

Guest speakers from varied fields are invited to engage in a dialogue with the students.

An essay writing competition is held every year in which the students write about books they have read during the year.  All these activities not only help to increase their knowledge base beyond academics but also to train and shape their mind and help them develop their personality in a holistic manner.
